Fine Artist

Thank you for taking the time to explore my artistic journey!  Feel free to look around my site and see all the different ways I love to create.  From custom banners to drawings with different mediums to paintings with oils and watercolors along with photography.

My Journey in Art

Banners

This has been my newest venture in the world of art.  Being a mom of 3, it can be hard to have time to go to my room and paint or go out and take landscape photos.  Doing banners has allowed me to be around my kids and paint at the same time. So, I am able to still create when I feel the desire!

Paintings

I have always loved painting, for as long as I can remember.  I started off with acrylics and then transitioned to oil painting because of my painting classes I took in college.  Since then, I still mainly use oils but I also enjoy the freedom of watercolor.  When I feel stuck in a mindset of being too neat in my paintings, I like to do a watercolor because it reminds me that paintings don't have to have perfect lines to be beautiful.

Drawings

I have drawn since I was a child.  I used pencil mostly.  I loved drawing portraits as my subject majority of the time and then in college I took a head drawing class and realized how much I still could learn to improve my drawing skills.  Since then, I have drawn subjects ranging from characters from my kids favorite movies to portraits to still lives.

Photography

Photography has been a fun outlet for me for years.  I got my first professional camera around when I started college.  It was so fun being able to photograph the landscapes around me during my college days to now.  Photography is a great way to recognize the beauty around us and appreciate all that we have to explore.  It's reminded me too that even the simplest of subject matters can be beautiful and fascinating.  I also have loved to turn my photography into paintings.  Being able to combine two worlds of art into one has been such a fun creative outlet.
